Today, toothbrushes have nylon（尼龙） bristles and normally have a plastic handle. Animal hair was replaced by nylon in 1938. Electric(电动的)toothbrushes were invented and marketed in 1880 by “Dr. Scott”. But the electric toothbrush did not become popular until after World WarⅡ. When the cordless model was invented in 1960, its popularity increased a lot.
